Let It Go


You know the song “Let it Go”? 

There is a powerful statement in the song that says:

“It's funny how some distance makes everything seem small
And the fears that once controlled me can't get to me at all
It's time to see what I can do
To test the limits and break through
No right, no wrong, no rules for me
I'm free”

How many times have you found yourself just thinking over and over about a situation or circumstance that doesn’t feel good. One that you can’t change —it’s happened and it’s over. 

Yet it keeps popping up in your mind and you replay it wondering why it happened the way it did or how you could have done things differently. 

A bad day — is just that AND you have a choice in how to manage such a day. 

As the song says “No right, no wrong, no rules for me—I'm free”

This is the most powerful statement I can think of that really opens the heart and allows for the mind (fear) to release the “bad day” and move into the freedom of choosing to see the good and learn the lesson. 

Back when I attend the Zig Ziglar conference there was a workshop that taught about being a “good finder” and there was even a notepad that we could fill in and share with others identifying something good about them. 

It taught me to be a good finder in all situations. 

From that time, I began to use this method. When I think of anything “bad” I’ve learned to continue being the good finder. Knowing that although the day isn’t as I would have desired, I am alive and well. Or I’m still breathing and that means I still hold the power in letting the situation control me or for me to control my thoughts and feelings around the situation. 

So what is your bad day coping mechanism? Do you carry it like a back pack and feel the weight and relive the moment?

Are you willing to take off the back pack and “let it go?”

Seems impossible —Want to know how? 

Take paper and pen and write out everything about the bad day, circumstance or situation. Get really detailed. Add the sounds, smells, feelings, and such to really paint a clear picture. If someone read it they would feel as though they were there. 

Get it all out on the paper. Don’t hold anything back. 

Once you feel complete, read it—out loud 3 times. 

And then take the paper and burn it 🔥

Yes! Burn it—and just before doing so say to the Universe I am releasing this to be recycled across all space and time. It no longer serves me and I am willing to let it go. 

Watch it burn and believe in the process and trusting it is so. 

Sounds silly — but it works! Give it a try.
